Allison is an award-winning photojournalist from Long Beach, California and is a staff photographer at the Washington Times. She worked as a journalist after receiving her BA in the subject, but quickly learned that she preferred telling stories visually and began a series of newspaper internships in order to learn the craft.
In the past several years, Allison has received honors from the National Press Photographers Association and the Society for News Design for her feature photography and photo editing skills.
She has freelanced for clients such as Rolling Stone, Teen Newsweek, The Washington Post, The American Red Cross and Amnesty International. Assignments have taken her from the music scene in Iceland to science programs in Antarctica, the AIDS crisis in Kenya to the political dissident movement in Cuba.
